The Kona Rove is a cheap, multi-purpose drop-bar bike that is built to last. It looks good and has a wide range of gears which make riding the bicycle more enjoyable.

The Hayes CX Comp Disc Brakes provided excellent stopping power.

The Kona Road saddle is well padded, allowing you to stay comfortable all through your ride.

The Kona Rove’s tires have an extra puncture protection layer that makes it next to impossible for you to have a flat.

The bike is heavy, something that slows it down.

The bike’s drop-bars mean you have to ride with your back bent. This may cause your back to ache if you’re not used to it.

Overview

The Kona Rove is a cheap, multi-purpose drop-bar bike that is built to last. It looks good and has a wide range of gears which make riding the bicycle more enjoyable.

Who is this bike perfect for?

  • If you’re a rider who often ventures beyond the tarmacked city streets, the Kona Rove would be a good bike for you. The bike performs well on or off-road, so you’re guaranteed a comfortable ride wherever you go.
  • If you want an affordable bike that is tough, durable, and versatile, seriously consider the Rove.

Performance

What makes the Kona Rove able to go anywhere? The answer to that question lies in its features, which I explain below.

  • The bike comes with 700x37c tires. These are wide enough to absorb the impact when riding on gravel or cracked pavement. The tires have a 3mm thick puncture guard strip, so you don’t have to fear getting a flat when riding offroad. The wheels also have reflective strips on the side that make you visible when riding in the dark. While the tires last long and make your ride more comfortable, they are heavy. So they will disappoint when it comes to speed. You can, however, get lighter tires if you want to use the Kona Rove for fast rides.
  • The Kona branded saddle is pleasant to sit on, and the extra cushion ensures you don’t feel bumps.
  • The Shimano Claris derailleurs and shifters work smoothly, allowing you to change gears easily as you tackle a mixture of gradients.
  • The mechanic disc brakes with 160mm rotors provide effortless braking in all types of terrain and weather. This stopping power is precisely what you need to come to an immediate stop, when you cycle in trails you aren’t familiar with.
  • The aluminum frame can absorb shocks well, giving you a comfortable ride.

Conclusion

The Kona Rove can do a lot. That makes it a decent option if you want a commuter bike that you can also use for weekend leisure rides or any other type of riding you choose!
