Specialized Allez Elite

The Specialized Allez Elite is a light, fast, entry-level road bike that has some pretty amazing specs for its price. It is the perfect bike to buy if you are getting into cycling.

The bike has some advanced features like the lightweight E5 Premium Aluminium frame and full monocoque carbon fork. These features only come with Specialized high-end bikes.

The Specialized Allez Elite is not heavy, something that makes going uphill easier. The lightweight also helps if you have to carry your bike upstairs.

The bicycle has fender and rack mounts. Adding fenders and racks to the Allez Elite ensures you keep you back dry when riding in wet weather, and you don't have to carry stuff personally.

The Specialized Allez Elite has rims brakes, which are OK, but we would have preferred disc brakes that offer greater stopping power, especially on long descents.

The bike has limited color options.

Specialized first introduced the Allez bike model in 1981. Since then, they have been releasing newer versions of the bike almost annually. Designed to be a road bike, the Specialized Allez is not the only type of bike Specialized make.

The U.S bicycle manufacturer has a wide range of bikes, including mountain, commuter, touring, kids, and racing bikes

Currently, models of this bicycle include the Specialized Allez, Allez Elite, Allez Sport, and Specialized Allez Sprint Disc. Prices for the different bikes range better $800 to $2300. The price range and good quality of this road bike series have made it very popular with cyclists. This popularity has made it one Specialized best selling bikes.

The 2020 Specialized Allez Elite comes with fantastic features such as 700x25c Specialized Espoir Sport tires, DT R460 alloy wheels, Shimano's legendary 105 shifting, Axis 1.0 calliper brakes, and a super comfortable Body Geometry Bridge saddle.

The bike is available in sizes 44, 49, 52, 54, 56, 58, and 61cm.

Who is this bike for?

  • If you're new to cycling, you should consider investing in the Specialized Allez Elite. The bike is fast and has comfortable geometry, which will make your entry into cycling much more enjoyable.
  • This bicycle is well priced, so it fits into the budget of most road riders.

Performance

The Specialized Allez Elite is a smooth, comfortable, and reasonably fast bike. Some of the features which enhance its performance include.

  • The Axis 1.0 calliper disc brakes provide you with firm stopping power. Combined with the DT460 rims, which have an aluminum braking surface, you always have full control of the bike even in wet weather.
  • The 25mm Specialized Espoir Sport tires offer excellent grip and comfort. The tires also have BlackBelt X2 puncture protection, which significantly reduces the probability of you getting a flat tire.
  • The Specialized E5 premium aluminum alloy frame and carbon fork absorb road vibration well, making your ride more pleasurable. The FACT carbon fiber fork also gives you better handling of the bike.
  • The Shimano 105 2x11 speed drivetrain offers a wide range of gears to play with over multiple terrain.
  • The bike's geometry created using Specialized's vast Retül fit database allows you to ride in different positions while maintaining proper handling and comfort.
  • Other factors that make it comfortable riding the Specialized Allez Elite are the aluminum handlebar and stem, plus the Bridge saddle designed using the Specialized Body Geometry Fit system.

Conclusion

The Specialized Allez Elite is a good option if you're looking to buy your first road bike. The bike has a beautiful design, functional specs, and it has a budget-friendly price. What more could you want from your first bike?
