Trek Supercaliber

The Supercaliber is a World Cup ready bike. It is sturdy, fast, and comes with cutting edge suspension that gives you a smooth ride. It is precisely what you need to win XC races.

IsoStrut suspension. This new frame-integrated shock by Trek adapts to different terrain quickly, ensuring you don't lose speed and comfort as you cycle on various surfaces.

The bike's frame has space for two water bottles. That makes it easier for you to stay hydrated on long rides.

Lightweight. The bike weighs less than 11kgs, making it incredibly fast.

The Trek Supercaliber is not cheap. You'll have to spend several thousand dollars to enjoy riding this bike.

The bike is available in limited colors.

When going for World Cross Country competitions, Trek noticed many athletes carried their hardtail and full-suspension bikes. After a few rounds on the course, the professional riders would decide which bike to continue using for the rest of the competition.

The U. S. bicycle company then decided to come up with a bike that allowed athletes not have to choose between a hardtail and a full-suspension bike. The bicycle they came up with is the Trek Supercaliber

The Supercaliber is a combination of a hardtail and full-suspension mountain bike. The bike, which took close to 4 years to develop, is available at different price points in four models:

  • The Supercaliber 9.9 AXS is the most expensive at $10,999. Its specs include a Rockshox SID Ultimate fork, Kovee XXX carbon wheels, and SRAM Level Ultimate brakes.
  • The Trek Supercaliber 9.9 swaps the AXS for XX1 Eagle wireless electronic shifting and a Fox SC32 Factory fork. This bike costs $9,499.
  • The Supercaliber 9.8 comes with an SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain, Shimano XT 8100 brakes, and the performance version of the Fox SC32 frame. If you decide to buy this bike model, it will set you back $5,899.
  • The Trek Supercaliber 9.7 is the fourth and cheapest model at $4,799. The bike has SRAM NX Eagle shifters, Shimano brakes, and a  Rockshox Reba RL fork.

All bike models are made from carbon and available in six sizes, S, M, ML, L, XL, and XXL.

Think the prices for this bike are too high?  Check out the Diamondback Haanjo, this bicycle might suit your budget.

Who is this bike for?

  • If you're into cross country cycling, then getting the Trek Supercaliber would be a good idea. This bike is fast and was built to win XC races.
  • If you have deep pockets or have saved up money to buy a high-performance cross country mountain bike, the Supercaliber would also be an excellent choice for you.

Performance

The Trek Supercaliber bikes come race-ready. This is made possible by some of the following bike features:

  • The travel on the Supercaliber is 100m in the front and 60mm in the rear. This travel allows you to race through rough trails without having to worry about losing speed or traction.
  • The IsoStrut shock makes the bike able to go uphill faster and outsprint a full suspension bike. The new suspension also gives you more control than you would get on a hardtail.
  • The SRAM Level Ultimate hydraulic disc brakes give you fast and smooth stopping.
  • The wireless electronic shifting offers a crisp and reliable change of gears.
  • The bike comes with an excellent set of carbon wheels. These trail-tough and lightweight wheels give you superb handling on various surfaces. We love the fact that the wheels come with a Bontrager's Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty Program warranty. If you damage the carbon wheels within the first two years of buying the bike, you can get a new set or have them repaired.
  • During a long ride or while racing, you're bound to get thirst. The fact that this bike comes with space for two water bottles is a big deal.
  • The bike's internal cabling gives it better aesthetics, keeps the cables out of the way and safe from damage.

Before it was put on the market, the Trek Supercaliber was used by Trek pro riders throughout the 2019 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. This is proof that the bike offers outstanding performance.

Conclusion

The Trek Supercaliber has set a new stand when it comes to cross country mountain bikes. Its cutting-edge suspension technology, high-quality bike components, lightweight, and speed makes it a top choice for XC racing enthusiasts.
